Empower Simcoe is an organization that works mindfully to empower every individual’s goals while treating everyone with respect and dignity. Our mission is to empower people to lead a meaningful and inclusive life by providing the highest quality of services. Empower Simcoe is a welcoming organization that provides the opportunity to Be, Belong and Thrive. The 2S-LGBTQ+ community can expect a welcoming environment that promotes a safe, inclusive workplace.

What is your commitment to creating safer spaces for 2S-LGBTQ+ community members?

Empower Simcoe is committed to creating a safer workplace for our employees, volunteers, and the people and families we support, where everyone feels that they belong and is empowered to speak up and be their true selves. Through our partnership with The Gilbert Centre, Empower Simcoe is committed to ongoing education for all employees and volunteers that promotes an inclusive workspace with inclusive and diverse supports and services. Empower Simcoe’s Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Advisory Council (EDIAC) supports our efforts to expand our capacity to serve in more positive ways. EDIAC was identified as a priority goal in Empower Simcoe’s Strategic Plan to provide advice, comments, and recommendations on issues affecting diversity at Empower Simcoe. Our agency is committed to an ongoing review of all policies and processes through a lens of equity and diversity that includes 2S-LGTBQ+ perspectives.
