What can members of 2S-LGBTQ+ community expect in your space?

We are committed to creating safer spaces for 2S-LGBTQ+ people through actions such as sharing our pronouns, offering an opportunity for clients to inform us of their pronouns in our registration forms so that we can use their correct pronouns, having visual support of the 2S-LGBTQ+ community in our gathering space to inform everyone that we are supportive and inclusive, having gender-neutral washrooms, ensuring we take the opportunity to educate anyone in our space if there is an implicit or explicit expression of discrimination or prejudice, and if necessary, taking further measures to support and protect 2S-LGBTQ+ community members. We also acknowledge that we likely have blind spots, we are open to feedback, and appreciate any and all learning opportunities.

Percent of the organization which has completed our professional development workshop or learning modules: Technically 100% as my partner and I are currently the only staff members. As the organization grows, we will be implementing this course for all future staff members, and we are looking at options to make this part of the training for volunteers/sub-contractors.

What is your commitment to creating safer spaces for 2S-LGBTQ+ community members?

We are developing an inclusive policies and procedures manual (we are currently a very small organization and do not yet have a policies and procedures manual, however it is coming soon and will prioritize creating safer spaces throughout each process).

How can members of 2S-LGBTQ+ community provide feedback?

We have anonymous feedback forms that are distributed at the end of every workshop, an we will also be creating an online anonymous feedback process in the near future.
