In healthcare we strive to provide patient-centre care. The Safer Spaces program allowed us the opportunity to learn about systemic barriers as well as some specific needs of our local LGBTQ2S+ community members we serve, thereby providing social justice and equity for all. In addition, the program provided ongoing coaching to our team in finding and implementing solutions to these barriers. Dale Boyle and his team provide a dynamic, engaging and non-judgemental learning environment for our team. This has had a positive impact on our Hospitals’ culture of Inclusivity and has had a notable impact on LGBTQ2S+ quality and safe patient care.
