We seek to provide compassionate patient-centered care to the LGBTQ+ patients of our family medicine practice, including transition-related care to trans and non-binary folks. However, we realized we had never examined our practice from a system perspective, and needed guidance to help us do this effectively. The Safer Spaces training helped us to make changes in our practice to ensure we are providing patient-centred compassionate care to gender diverse folks.
