Our program values non-judgmental, barrier-free access to mental health services. We recognized that we could improve on our inclusiveness and address potential barriers, especially to ensure our 2S LGBTQ+ colleagues and clients could identify us as a safe space. We reached out to Safer Spaces, which helped to dramatically increase our awareness and challenged us to reconsider how we can improve our policies and procedures, and overall services to our clients. We are very grateful to Dale and the Safer Spaces team, and we encourage all service providers to reach out and begin their journey to better care for all.
